BROCK’S LAST CASE (TV-1973), color, 92 minutes
Lt. Max Brock is a war-weary New York City police detective who has had enough of the big city, the judicial system . . . and the weather! He has systematically been investing in a California orange grove and decides to take an early retirement and enjoy “the fruits of his labors”. Not! When he arrives he discovers his “caretaker, Native American Arthur Goldencorn, has used all of the money to keep a decrepit small grove basically out of foreclosure. Immediately after arriving, Max is roped (his background is common knowledge in the small town) in by the young local deputy sheriff, “Stretch” Willis, to help him solve the murder of the sheriff—with Arthur as the prime suspect!
