Representing their fellow sharecroppers Abner Weaver and his family, Elviry, Cicero, and Violey, have come to make their case to their landlord Mr. Pittman. But Pittman is unsympathetic since the only thing in worse trouble than his finances is his health, and his wastrel son and discontented wife are only making matters worse. So in a flight of fancy Mr. Pittman signs over control of everything he owns to Abner Weaver and flees the turmoil of his home and affairs, hoping to escape the stress that his doctors warn will be the death of him. Laughs, hijinks and good 'ol Missouri music follow as the Weavers try to put things right in Pittman's absence. 68 minutes
