Singer Jane Froman, who had worked long and hard entertaining the troops during WWII, featured men in uniform on her CBS Network series.
At the start of the series, and in cooperation with the Department of Defense, the program sought out talented serviceman who competed for the opportunity to perform on her program.
At the start of the 1953-54 season the show was shortened to 30 minutes and the servicemen were dropped. The Jane Froman Show became a straight musical variety show.
