JULIE ANDREWS & JACKIE GLEASON: HOW SWEET IT IS - 1974
Product Description
A rare TV gem starring Jackie Gleason and Julie Andrews reminisce about days of old, perform musical numbers together, and do some old and new comedy skits, including Gleason as "The Poor Soul" and "Joe the Bartender", and a "Honeymooners" skit with Julie playing Ed Norton. These two work well together. This is probably the last time that Gleason did his pre-Ralph Kramden characters.
This special was produced specifically for the American market (with Jackie Gleason's famous catchphrase making up half the title). Because Gleason was not as well known in England at the time, the program was re-titled "Julie Andrews and Jackie Gleason...Together" when it was shown on British television three months after its US broadcast.
To get to London to make this special, Jackie Gleason flew by airplane for the first time in twenty years. – Run time:
