MATINEE THEATER - (1950'S LIVE TV - DRAMA) - DVD!
October 31, 1955 – June 27, 1958
Matinee Theater is an American anthology series that aired on NBC from 1955 to 1958 and was hosted each day by John Conte.
Matinee Theater was a most ambitious theatrical TV series for NBC televising five different stage plays per week live, airing around noon in order to promote color TV (which had just been developed) to the American housewife as she labored over her ironing.
An earlier live series Cameo Theatre introduced to television the concept of theater-in-the-round, TV plays staged with minimal sets.

This collection is offered on a collector to collector basis as the quality of some episodes, although very good, is not 2012 TV quality. These are the best quality episodes available for this rare old TV anthology drama. If you are not a collector of vintage video (and therefore do not understand about what is available in the collector arena) and are expecting to see a “retail quality” set, you wont find it with any 50-60 year old TV series not retail released
All DVDs come with menus with episode titles for easy episode access.
